Department of Health and Welfare
Licensing: Although any child care provider can seek state licensing,
by state law the Department licenses child care providers who
have more than six children enrolled. Communities and cities
have the option to implement their own licensing laws, if they
meet the minimum state licensing standards. Boise, Chubbuck,
Coeur d'Alene, Jerome, Lewiston, Moscow, and Pocatello provide
child care licensing in their communities. Click
